What do we do?

Your dream club is just around the corner.

JSA is a club for students who are interested in political topics and want to know more about what is going on in their country. Each member who joins will gain a more intelligent and observant point of view, and they will be able to cooperate more cohesively with their fellow student members. They will be able to gain many leadership skills through speeches, debates, mock trails, and many other fun activities that we plan to do during the semester. Our goal is to prepare these students for when they are eighteen years old and ready to vote for the right candidate to represent our country. We encourage members to speak up about political problems going on in our country and collaboratively create a solution that benefits both the people and the nation. We also prepare our students for national conventions that happen at JSA such as Fall State and one day conferences.

There is a $10 membership fee and all proceeds will go to the JSA association.

What do we do everyday?

Every Thursday after school, we start out by doing a though talk to warm us up for the activity planned that day. Thought talks are open discussions about specific current events or national issues, and usually take up 15 minutes. Then we proceed into the activity which consists of debates and other fun activities like some we did in the past such as making our own government or activities involving students to think as judges of a court. Overall it is a very fun and exhilarating experience and joining will not only expand your knowledge about current events but it also opens opportunities to gain leadership skills. We provide an OPEN, SAFE environment for students to share their opinions comfortably whether they are affiliated with a political party or have no preference.
